As it's not on Hwy 1A, few travellers get a taste of Thai Binh.The only real sight of interest is the nearby 12th-century Keo Pagoda, Is was built to honour both the Buddha and the monk Khong Minh Khong, who miraculously cured Emperor Ly Thanh Ton of leprosy. The finely carved wooden bell tower is considered a masterpiece of traditional Vietnamese architecture. The nearby dike is a good place to get a general view of the pagoda complex. Keo Pagoda is 9.5km southwest of Thai Binh and easily reached by xe om.
